Colorado Vacation Pictures.

Here are just a few shots taken during the trip to Colorado.

How many birds do you see in this picture?

Had to climb up these rocks to get to the top of Longs Peak.

We ate lunch at the top then started our journey back down.

A view of the other side atop Longs Peak.

To get to the top you must traverse a mile through a rocky field.

Marmots. Dont let that adorable face fool you they are vicious. No not really.
They are very awesome and really friendly.

We had to get to the trailhead for Longs Peak really early in the morning in order to make it to the top without chancing a rain storm. The hike is about 8 miles to the top. We started at 9,400 ft elevation and climbed to 14,900 ft elevation. We had to concentrate on breathing as we got higher and higher due to the altitude.

I rented a road bike for a day to bike up Mount Evans (highest paved road in the country I think). So I started about 15 miles from the entrance into Mount Evans in Echo State Park. Once into Mount Evans it was another 15 miles to the top. It was 30 miles of uphill climbing, grades from 3%-8%. TDF type of cycling. It took a quarter of the time to get down as it did to get up. This pic is a view from the road up to Mount Evans. It was around 80 degrees where I started and was around 35 degrees at the top.

Resting the feet after a long day of hiking in the cold canyon river.

Waterfall action. A big tourist spot at the bottom of Glacier Gorge Trail.

A view of the Rockies along my bike trip up Mount Evans.

Moutain Face.

These are the mushrooms that grow along the trail. No eating.

We had beautiful weather everyday in CO. I was in my element in Estes Park.

Bluejay. Not like the ones we have here at home.
