February Trip to New York

Visited my sister in New York last weekend. I ate a lot of tasty food... Vietnamese Pho Soup, Pizza, and my first Falafel. Did some shopping. Hiked 2 days. And spent almost have the days on the subways and trains getting everywhere. It snowed like crazy the day I was suppose to fly out and I was delayed over 12 hours.

Metro North from Central Station to the 2nd to last stop.
Really nice train ride along the Hudson.

Christi hiding from the bear that was chasing. No not really. But that would be pretty exciting.

Most of the trail had a good foot of snow. Awesome indeed. I had a blast.
One of the best times I've had on a hike.

A good resting place in the snow. I think my pants were soaked after this pit stop.
The hike took us over 4 hours I think.

Overlook of the Hudson River. A huge patch was frozon over.
Really pretty out there with the snow.

Thats a view of the City from the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Totally not worth the travel time to it. But I'm happy I was able to see what it was all about. There was almost a foot of snow on the "nature" trail. Also I managed to get my feet soaking wet because I stepped into a sneaky puddle on the beach. Manhattan does not know how to do nature. Super lame wildlife refuge.

Visited with my Grandma in Massapequa Park on my last day.
We ate a home cooked meal and played cards.
Just to get there from Brooklyn took over a couple hours.

Brooklyn Bridge. My sisters office building is basically right on the water.
